ENVELOPMENTS INC. CASE STUDY

Background

Envelopments is a small Orange County based company with over 30 employees providing custom card stock (Paper Products) for formal invitations using a patent fold. Envelopments creates formal announcements and invitations such as wedding packages, but they do it with class and style unlike any other.

Needs

Use technology to create a strong collaborative work environment to keep information flowing, costs down, and continually grow while delivering a great product to the industry. They need to leverage technology and adapt it around the already existing environment versus changing the operational flow of the company.

Response

Envelopments hired Technability to re-build their current infrastructure into an entire new facility using all new technology while preserving all aspects of the existing data and prepare them for expansion moving forward. Technability developed a strong collaborative work environment to keep payroll costs down and prevent gaps in communication using a combination of Exchange 2003 Server, GFI and Nortel Systems. Technability developed this entire new Enterprise offsite, migrated all data and installed all new systems from Servers to Internet to Telco Systems over an entire weekend to make sure the business was up and operational 4 days after the move.

Results

Envelopments is now a leader in the industry using technology to expand and grow the business. They are able to process orders within minutes versus days, they communicate between all departments and are able to provide excellent customer service and most of all, they have been able to keep costs at a minimum due to the information flow and reliance on technology versus additional manual labor. Information is at their finger tips also giving them the opportunity to expand within the market and focus on new challenges.

MIKES TICKETS INC. CASE STUDY

Background

Mikes Tickets is an Orange County ticket broker who buys and sells tickets to almost any event in the Continental U.S.

Needs

Develop a solid infrastructure and reliable intranet and internet connectivity topology as majority of the business is conducted over the WAN. Mikes Tickets has evolved with technology in bits and pieces but not with the required hardware and reliability factor. Mikes Tickets also suffered from the Local IT Guy Issues who was hard to get in touch with, unwilling to go above and beyond and who always made Mikes Tickets the receiver of blame when an issue occurred.

Response

Mikes Tickets hired Technability to re-build the mikestickets.com web presence and the entire Mikes Tickets office with all new hardware, proper domain configuration and security along with reliable internet connectivity. Technability also performed all upgrades and new configurations without impacting business and all work was performed after hours.

Results

Mikes Tickets is now able to focus on what they do best which is buy and sell tickets and not worry about Information Systems failures. They now work on expanding the business, reaching out to their customer base and have the ability to work from any remote location when needed which means remote ticket sales offices. Mikes Tickets is what we consider caught up on technology and advancing with the times while driving the bottom line.

FRANKLIN ADVANTAGE

Background

Franklin Advantage is a small Lake Forest based financial planning company with 12-15 employees performing services from Real Estate Transactions, to Mortgages and Investments.

Needs

Build new network and bring back the reliability factor. Properly setup Active Directory, File Sharing, Security, and consistent Workstation Setups with Proper Software Configurations. Franklin Advantage was suffering from the home-based IT Guy and Multi-IT guy syndrome with personal configurations versus industry standard.

Response

Franklin Advantage hired Technability to revamp their entire operation while preserving mission critical data and being able to accomplish such a large upgrade without impacting business. Technability installed new servers, new firewall, new switch, re-configured Active Directory and public – private domains, created proper GPO’s and User Security Settings, Upgraded critical Software Applications for the Mortgage Industry and rebuilt entire Email System along with Web Hosting over a single weekend where each user was back to work 100% the next business day.

Results

Franklin Advantage is now operating within a properly configured domain environment with everything working flawlessly without any issue and they are able to focus on what is important, their clients. Technability has now brought back the good faith in IT people to Franklin Advantage versus the under the breath cursing prior to our involvement. The business will never be the same and they have drastically lowered their costs in all areas.
