In our current economic times and along with general business attitude, most businesses are looking to leverage all aspects of their business allowing the highest level of performance while at the lowest cost possible. Achieving this comes in many ways within any business infrastructure, areas such as streamlining processes, reduction of head count, etc. are among the types of initiatives. In my companies quest to start a business in such controversial times, one of the key areas was our IT infrastructure from both a hardware and support perspective. Our need to have state of the art hardware that would immediately support our business with little to no need to add additional equipment if our volumes increased beyond expectations, was critical to our implementation. Additionally, our budget could not support a full time IT Department with a Hardware specialist, Network Specialist, and a System Administrator generalist. We already had our hands full with finding a building for our corporate offices and warehouse; connecting and developing relationships with our Customers and Suppliers; Implementing a Business Systems environment from scratch; Designing and deploying processes; and hiring a staff from Data Entry to the CFO. We needed to look for an alternative solution for our IT Infrastructure. We needed a Team that was ahead of the curve in terms of technology from both a hardware and network perspective and could support our internal and external communication needs. What we found was Technability. A Team of flexible, highly intelligent, and get the job done attitude IT specialists. This Team immediately impacted our ability to get up and running with both traditional and non-traditional approaches. All of it being done at a cost point that allowed us to focus our resources in the right direction, getting our business up and running. Looking back on our decision and the various discussions that surrounded the move to use an outside IT Support Team, it is clear that the right decision was made and we are currently reaping the benefits of that decision. We have our infrastructure up and running; we have a Team that can support us both on site (if required) or remotely; our future initiatives for expanding our business can be supported with the current environment. When I was forming the OC Stroke Association last year my first call was to Technability. Not knowing much at all about web sites and how to purchase a domain name I asked for some help and ideas. Before the day was done I had a secured domain name, ideas for a web site and how to market my new Association.
